moo.rd 1.3.1: the first official demo
February 12th, 2008 | written by RDThe first official demo of the new version of moo.rd is here. It’s a beta version, too. But it shows the new, more powerful and more coherent engine of the Customize branch.
The following are the currently three demos of the moo.rd1.3.1beta Customize:
The new Custom.Alert and Custom.Confirm classes are modal, fixed, and can be draggable, like the standards. But they are “Custom”, so we can give them our personal style, choose an overlay (made by the new Overlay Utility Class) with a custom light, make them appears/disappears with a fade transition and many more.
I want to have the Apple style plus the Windows Style plus my personal style in the page: mission impossible? custom Alerts and custom Confirms, go, make it possible!
The SmoothScrolling class is now for “all smooth needs”. Extending Fx.Scroll, it take advantage of its options, like wheelStops. In addiction, we can choose which anchors must be affected and the Fx parameters of the “effects”.
Write here your opinion, your suggestions, your needs. We’re working to offer the maximum, so we’d like to hear your thoughts.

Hi Hank, first of all, an “issue” is a problem, frequently a bug into code

Secondly, now the Customs are ready to be pushed into a new demo.
Stay tuned

Hi Riccardo!
Examples (http://www.moord.it/examples/custom_alert/, http://www.moord.it/examples/custom_confirm/) in IE7.0 both under WXP SP2 and under Vista do not work.

What kind of operating systems and browsers do you use for development and debugging of moord library?
March 25th, 2008
Hank, there was a problem with a php file: now if you try to go to the Custom.Alert and Custom.Confirm example pages, you’ll see that all works correctly (remember that these demos uses the old 1.3 version).
moo.rd is tested with IE 6, IE 7, Firefox (all), Safari 3 and Opera 9+.

Well, version 1.3 (Custom. Alert & Confirm) works correctly now. But it doesn’t concern of Smooth Scrolling.
When will example with Custom.Alert v. 1.3.1 work correctly?
Rough period (+-month) interests me.
Good luck!

The demo will come soon…
The releases periods also depend on the MooTools 1.2 release periods: moo.rd is entirely based on MooTools.

Excuse for importunity, Riccardo.
I have looked examples http://www.moord.it/examples with Custom.Alert & Confirm under IE6.0.
Two problems remained.
The modal dialog is allocated at the left at the top of a browser window. It is half hidden. The right half of modal window is visible only. But thus it is possible to press button “ОК” to close a dialog.
Scrolling does not work correctly by means of a mouse wheel. Modal dialog is not necessary on a place. It moves together with background.

Hank, there was a bug with customs and IE 6, with the version 1.3.
Now, with the incredible power-up of the 1.3.1 release, the customs works perfectly in all browser, IE 6 included. And it’s not finished: now you can use the flexible Overlay Class, to create modal and fully-customizable overlay’s where the customs appears. In addiciton, you can choose whether enable the dragging, wheteher enable the drag-fade, whether enable the adjustment of the styles and many, many more.
For the scrolling too. Now you can handle the mouse wheel as you want: you can decide if it must stop the scrolling or not.
Try them out with the new SVN Download Builder and report errors on the dev section, if you find one.

Hi!
I have checked up Custom.Alert only today. Check has been made under IE6.
The common summary is the such: Custom. Alert version 1.3.1 moord works, but works with small defects.
1. Modal dialogue is not centered. It is displaced to the right.
2. Мodal dialogue is a little displaced downwards or upwards at movement by a mouse’s wheel of a background at reaching to the finite upper item or lower item accordingly.
Good luck, RD!

Hi Hank, i do really appreciate your devotion for the Customs, in particular for the Custom.Alert.
But it’s really difficult to learn about your problem, only reading your description.
You have to post a link (better and better solution) or the code in the forum if you want i try to help you
In my tests, currently, the customs are centered in all the browser which moo.rd cover: IE 6 too. So this is probably an error into your code.
If you want, you can open a ticket on the dev section whenever you want to report your error: but they must have a code snippet or a link
